The End is Near

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 12:29 PM

Hi people,

I'm finally gonna graduate! :w00t: I finished and passed my finals, I graduate this Friday, and soon after I'll hopefully take the test for my national certification. Soon I'll be a professional massage therapist!

Until I get my license in the mail, I'll be hanging around here doing some interior design work for the massage school and hanging out with the locals while I'm still here. Then I'll move home by Christmas and hopefully start my massage work at the beginning of next year at a chiropractor's office. So exciting to finally be out making money doing what I like. =D

Maybe I'll finally get back into editing and uploading photos once my evenings aren't spent at school. Guess we'll see soon enough!

Not Dead Yet...

Fri Oct 2, 2009, 7:14 PM
Hey folks, I'm still here, although not nearly as actively as I'd like to be. =( As the year has been progressing, I've been going through quite a bit that keeps me from dA. This spring I had to deal with a full college schedule during the daytime and massage classes at night. I finally graduated with my Biology B.S. in June! :w00t: I got a week-long vacation from massage school and took a trip to Maine with my parents. It was green and gorgeous there, so I hope to get some photos uploaded here to share eventually. My boyfriend was able to make a trip over here from Japan to visit me , and we took a few fun trips to the greener side of Washington last month. Now that he's gone and I don't have to go back to the university, I am focusing on finishing my massage program. By the beginning of next year, I hope to have my massage license and start my career as a therapist, unless I find a good biology job. I'm hoping to take my first trip to Japan in early spring, but I still need to save up money (and make some in the first place :X) and do some hardcore planning with my boyfriend and other friends there. This next half year will be an adventure for me!

Hey everyone,

It's been quite a while huh? I finally got around to posting some reptile photos, now that I'm on Spring Break. I was hoping to get around to editing some of my older photos too, but that's not going to work out until I figure out why my monitor is being silly and not showing the colors the way it should. I tried doing all sorts of adjustments with color and gamma, but nothing seems to be working. :X I'm not sure what the problem is in the first place and why it started randomly. But anyways, I'll get to more photos when I can!

Speaking of photos, this winter has been weird for photoshoots. I got a short notice invitation to do an in-studio shoot with a Seattle photographer and am super happy with the outcomes. They're up with my other modeling pics on Flickr, the ones on the bottom. [link] I've had some other photoshoots planned out for a while, but the weather has proven to be difficult this past month and kept me from traveling west over the mountains to the Seattle area. I hope April will be better and I can finally get out to get some more great pics!

In other news, this is going to be a packed spring for me. I'll have a full schedule of university classes, as it's my last quarter and I'm taking all the leftover classes I need to get graduated. On top of that, we're getting more into the juicy stuff at massage school. Kinesiology will be where the hardcore memorization will be going on (all the muscles and how they work), and we finally get to start learning massage techniques and practicing on each other. I will definitely need to be worked on, with how stessful and full my days will be. :faint:

Let It Snow!!

Sun Dec 21, 2008, 6:02 PM
Wow, we're sure getting a ton of snow in WA this winter! :snowflake: It's really exciting for me, as it's one of the few things about winter I actually like. I made it home for the holidays after traveling for an hour and a half on the nearly empty highway during an afternoon flurry. At least being almost alone was better than there being lots of people driving faster than they should and ending up in the ditches. Man, those people from the west side can be pretty foolish when it comes to driving in the snow. Haha, anyways!

It's great to be home on break from the university and massage school. I got decent grades at the university and managed to get the highest grade on my first test in Anatomy & Physiology at massage school. My pathology teacher was kind enough to schedule a test for the very day we get back from break though, so I'm not so pleased with her. :x Other than that, massage school is starting out well! I learned the basics of Reiki during a weekend workshop and it was an amazing experience. I'm in awe of how strongly that stuff affects me, so it would be cool to learn enough to become a Reiki master and do that to other people. :meditate:

Well, here's hoping everyone has safe and happy holidays! :alienxmas: I'm excited for Christmas, but will also be excited to get back and be able to go out and play in the snow with my friends when they return too!

Irrational

Sat Nov 1, 2008, 10:05 PM
...I really hate irrational fears and phobias. My reactions are physically extreme and usually involve passing out. Today I hit my head on the wall and floor pretty hard, all because I can't stand listening to talk about bloodborne diseases and needles. And of course I was attending a 4 hour course covering bloodborne pathogens and AIDS. Ugh. Headache = bad. At least I didn't end up in the ER with a concussion.
